Founder & Architectural Designer

Ryan Skitt is the founder of Affordable Architectural, an independent architectural design practice supporting homeowners, landlords, developers and businesses across a range of residential and commercial projects.

Ryan established Affordable Architectural with a clear aim: to make architectural design and the planning process more accessible, straightforward and affordable, without compromising on quality or professionalism.

Since starting the business, Ryan has worked across a growing range of projects including residential extensions, conversions, HMOs, changes of use, property development and commercial schemes.

Alongside his project work, Ryan has received national recognition for his achievements within the built environment and technical education. He is an award-winning young professional and has been invited to speak at national events across the UK, sharing his experiences with industry professionals, employers, educators and other young people entering the sector.

Approach

Ryan takes a practical and commercially aware approach to architecture.

He believes good design is not simply about how a building looks, but about understanding what the client wants to achieve, the constraints of the property or site, the planning environment and how the finished project will actually be used.

Clear communication is also central to the way Affordable Architectural operates. Clients are kept informed throughout the process and technical information is explained in a way that is straightforward and easy to understand.

As Founder, Ryan oversees the design direction, quality and continued development of Affordable Architectural.

The practice continues to grow through a combination of strong client relationships, carefully considered design work and collaboration with other professionals where specialist input is required.

Ryan's wider interests include architecture, property development, construction and business, with a long-term focus on continuing to develop Affordable Architectural into a respected and forward-thinking practice within the built environment.

Looking Forward

Ryan is still at an early stage in what he intends to be a long-term career within architecture and property.

His focus is on continuing to develop his experience, taking on increasingly ambitious projects and building Affordable Architectural sustainably while maintaining the personal and accessible service on which the business was founded.
